Big Bang for the Buck April 25, 2009 D. Rush (Maryland) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Over the past two months I have read reviews for the various ipod speaker docks as well as tested several in stores. I'm not sure you'll find many comparable to this one, especially in this price range. I agree with the previous review that you will have to adjust the EQ on your ipod to boost the treble otherwise the bass can become overpowering with some types of music. If you're looking for simple design with surprising sound, this is the one. I owned a portable speaker dock prior to this and ended up parting with it. Although I can't fold this down and put it in a case to take it wherever I go, the sound quality far outweighs the portable ability.
Great Sound January 3, 2009 James Buffinet (Louisiana) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Very full sound for small speakers...I use it for my Ipod Touch and Classic. It charges them both and can also connect directly to my lap top. At first it lacked a little clarity but when I changed my Ipod's EQ to treble boost it came to life. Worth every penny.
I like. Good sound, nice look, simple to use. February 16, 2010 S. Lewis (VA, USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had been looking a while for an IPOD speaker system. Then I saw this on sale at Amazon. Boston Acoustics at a reasonable price. I bought it (figured I couldn't go wrong). I'm happy I did.
I have owned it about 1 month. It is a substantial speaker system, heavy, not cheap like many of the other systems I see lining the shelfs at costco or bestbuy. The sound is terrific (no, it doesn't rival my expensive full sized polk audio stereo system, but it does sound better than my fairly nice altec lansing computer speakers). I can be a bit of an audiophile, so I was pleasantly surprised these sound as well as they do for a small bookshelf unit. I shouldn't be surprised, BA makes pretty good equipment.
Easy to use.
The remote is limited as someone said, but that is to be expected (we are talking simple operation). It forward/backs up for next or previous song, it pauses and it powers down. Simple functionality. You do have to choose your playlist through the ipod menus before hitting play.
I liked it so much that when I saw it on sale (apparently) again today, I ordered one for my bedroom and then decided to write this review.
Yes, I would prefer the black one, but I can easily adapt to white for the price difference.
Wonderful Speaker! March 19, 2010 L. M. Depta (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was searching for a good portable speaker for my ipod. I narrowed my choices to iHome iP1 and Altec Lansing Mix iMT800. Both bulky systems the third one was Boston Acoustics Horizon Duo-i that got a lot of positive reviews but finally I found out about Boston Acoustics Horizon I-DS2 iPod Dock on sale on Amazon. I couldn't go wrong with Boston Acoustics especially for $99. I love the sound and low bass. If you don't want to spend $300+ for ipod portable system - pick this one you will not regret.
Great I-Pod speaker - as good as Bose March 16, 2010 Barbara Collins (New York, NY) This is a terriffic speaker for my I-Pod Touch 3 gen. Sound is awesome and charges the 3 generation I-Pod Touch with no problem. I have it in my kitchen and it is a really nice looking unit - very compact and easy yo use.
